...Spotted...the newest Aw11 trend, the dalmatian print.

Now I love love love this trend, but although I feel it would be worn fabulously by wearing dalmatian accessories on the highstreet.... Topshop have hit the nail on the head with their cool not to much, designer vibe doggy style.

Their collection includes spotted accessories but also one pieces that everyone can wear.

I would definitely recommend to blend in with winters dark nights and snow days!!!

...I have just completed a fashion photo shoot for a free South West based magazine called 247. It included 4 amazing stores located on Park Street, Bristol such as Cooshti, My Yard, Bench and Motel.

The theme was to do a editorial shoot based on Spring/Summer fun things to do, so we recreated free fun things, for what we believed, the particular readers would find interesting!

Motel is a young, fashionable affordable brand, a free standing store and also a brand with Topshop stores.

The Motel girls from Bristol are fabulous and always let me borrow their clothes for photo shoots, as I have been borrowing their clothes for free, we came to an agreement that their garments could be advertised withing their store, so today I am now a proud stylist to have imagery professionaly presented within a high standard store.

...Gok Wan is in Bristol today filming for his new series 'Gok's Clothes Roadshow'.

I'm getting involved today, with a small group of people, to be shown some of Gok's catwalk looks for his catwalk show in Cabot Circus on 28th Jan at 5pm.
From what I've got from the information I've been told Gok will be teaching the public how to cleverly use simple items and create them into garments.

"Watch him turn a picnic blanket into a dress or make a trench coat into a playsuit!!"

For the new year and my first photo shoot of the year, I was inspired by the catwalks use of block colour, it was used with beautiful vibrant colours and different shades in some for S/S 11.

As I am making a magazine for my FMP as well, and hardly ever use studios, so I thought what a great opportunity to use these gorgeous alive colours against a plain background to really show them off.

...I was searching for new inspiration for a new fashion photo shoot and was finding it hard to get a new fresh idea, so I decided to go to the Library and pick up artists books without looking at who they were and I came across an image that has always stuck in my head, the all so famous ' Ceci n'est pas une pipe' - 'this is not a pipe' as the famous artist René Magritte suggested it is not a pipe, it is a picture of a pipe. His imagery is all about surrealism and a few of his images really caught my eye.

So I decided to recreate some of his images into fashion images.

...awwwwww how I love shoes and love these new images I created with the fantastic photographer Zack Saitoti and gorgeous model Sophia Flourentzou and with the lent from Kurt Geiger we created some visual delights for shoe lovers, and of course my portfolio!!!

I was inspired Guy Bourdin's images of fabulously styled shoes, I was inspired by his strong focus on the shoes and his obsession with sex and death.

I was also inspired by Niki Whittle, a stylist from Bristol, who just wanted to update some pictures of herself on her blog, I was particularly inspired by an image of her feet with lots of shopping bags and her leopard print shoes really stood out.

Apocalypse Now...

...So I was given the challenge to watch the film 'Apocalypse Now' and create 6 different fashion images from it, I was also given only 4 days to complete it!!! As I had never watched the film before and I had one full day of work I only really had 2 1/2 days to organise and create these images!

The film is based around the Vietnam War and was set in a jungle with the American army and tribes.

I decided to go for a female model as the whole film was based around male soldiers, to not make it cliche, and had a setting of a 'real jungle' so the wonderful Jungle Rumble mini golf course in Bristol Cabot Circus allowed me to shoot within their store, I'm really happy with the final images and think they look great.

Unfortunatley the model who I wanted to use was unable to make it last minute, so I had to step in and model....so excuse the novice modelling, but would love to know people thoughts?!

...So as I have disappeared from my blog, the reason behind it is due to my overload of course work and recently I've been working on 50's style.

I've always been in love with 20's style, but thought I'd try a different era to photograph and make contemporary which I thought would be great as 50's is every where at the moment!!

So this time I was set the challenge of taking the pictures myself as well as styling and directing and choosing the locations. It was my first time ever using a camera, developing and scanning the film.

I wanted the imagery to have contemporary 50's style, but with a vintage feel so I took the photographs in black and white film.

Some of these images aren't up to scratch and unfortunately I've lost some detail on the garments and lost one outfit altogether, I was gutted but I think I have got a few images that I could use.

...So I went to London just over a week ago and went to several different locations including Oxford Street, Soho & Covent Garden.

I found 4 wonderful style icons, in these areas and they should be a great influence to us all!!

I found Elena in Oxford Street, spotted her from across the road when everyone else was dressed to the extreme of casual, Elena was effortlessly elegant. Shes kept all the same tones of colours to match, which with an outfit as elegant as this, matching works, although her red nails give the outfit a bit of an edge. The cut & shape of this dress really suite Elena's figure and her hair messily tied up makes this outfit not too much for a day time look...good work!!!

I also found Harriet in oxford street, when I saw her cool, girly casual style I knew she had to be stopped! Her colour scheme is fabulous, the yellow dress mixed with the brown brown just shouts 70's style which is so in at the moment and adding the blue sneaks really makes the outfit a modern day outfit. This shapeless dress with ruffles does wonders for a slim figure, and her hair effortlessly down really makes the look a fabulous casual day look. Love the style.

I found Ruth in Soho and thought she made the casual look funky and modern. Ruth chose an over sized top with faux leather leggings, an over sized bag & a thin belt to grasp shape (small belts are the new belt for this A/W). The colour scheme is simple, but works as the outfit is so cool, the flip flops with these leggings gives a cool casual rock chick look, whilst the wavy long hair keeps the look girly and pretty. Want these leggings!!

Larissa was spotted in Covent Garden, when I saw her I instantly thought she had the English prep look, and really did justice to the look. Larissa is wearing a great cable wire cream jumper which is huge for the A/W, but the detailing around the neck gives it that cool modern day prep look. The boat shoes are shown off fabulously with these ankle cut trousers, wonderfully paired together. I think her look is fabulous and is definitely in keeping with this A/W trends.

...So as much as I don't want to admit it, summers nearly over :(
(even though I still have two more holidays to go on!!!)

It's so sad to see the sunshine go and the rain pour in...but one good thing about the change of season is the change of fashion and the all so great shopping trips for the new wardrobe must haves that we 'have' to buy!!!! :D

So I'm giving you my top 5 'must haves' for this Autumn/Winter 2010

1. A RED DRESS: This is a big hit for this A/W. I love that this year Britain is saying NO to black this winter!!! Bring a happy colour into your day with a rich red, a great shape like this James Lakeland red sheer tulle dress from £235.00 is a great day to night outfit change.

Big gorgeous heels will never go out because they're all too fabulous, but it's nice to have options to whether you need your feet to have a break from the big boys and swap to the kitten heels, well were in luck!

I went to All Saints about two weeks ago and this particular jacket caught my eye, I tried it on and instantly fell in LOVE!!!!!!! Not only did it look absolutely amazing, but felt so comfortable and warm, you know it would keep you safe & fashionable for winter. This must have is an All Saints lelex leather jacket for £275.00. It's on my shopping list now...SOLD!
GREAT FOR: Daytime wear, to glam up any casual outfit & of course keeping you warm.

Now as that is our day time jacket, I think it's only right that you need a coat too for winter, just in case one gets a little wet! I love my new bag from Topshop, its so gorgeous and practical!! As much as I love my over sized bags, I am so relieved to have that weight off of my shoulder & it's looks soo good too!!!

But what drew me to this gorgeous piece of fashion was the familiarism of my the bag from my nanny new, when I was little she always had a bag like this, in navy as well!!!

I love how the fashion timeline just keeps on rolling & bringing back the good old memories!

I have just finished two photo shoots, one with a 70's theme with the images being used as promotional ads for Rag Tag Boutique in Bristol. The second was a glamour shoot and a fashion shoot, separated for each model. I had great fun working on these shoots and am happy with the final images.

So I was doing my daily research by reading various magazines, and I came across a designer inspired website which has caught my attention.
The website has various categories to choose from with great designer replicas, but my favourite areas have got to be the watches and the handbags...They're unreal...literally!

In the watches category they have been inspired by Toy watches, as if I'm not already obsessed with them and now they're telling me they're selling these from £15-£25....OUCH! But they look soooo good and are an extremely tempting buy!

The Handbags are delicious too, with such inspired designer looks as Alexanda McQueen, Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbanna, Juicy Couture, Dior, Prada and many more.
These bags are sooo gorgeous and really good look-a-likes and at this moment in time they are teasing us with prices from just £15-£45!!!

HOLIDAY BLUES...

...ooooooooooh, how I have the holiday blues!!

I have just got back from Las Vegas Nevada and several locations around LA, California.

As much as I could probably go on about the how much I loved every aspect of the locations, I have to express my love for the fashion over there.

I was struck by shop after shop of high end designer shops I was surrounded by Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Dior, Tiffany&co, oh how I could go on, and I loved every second of it! I was in my element, it was as if I was in a grown up Disney Land but more stylish and more expensive!

The clothes, the shoes, the bags, were what every girl could only dream of, I was surrounded by beauty, beauty with a price that was well worth it!

But the most beautiful shop when I entered was Agent Provocateur they whole store was so elegant and womanly and drove you to it as soon as the eye could see, it was a favourite of mine.

But as my friends and I were driving from Las Vegas to LA were drove past the Wynn Hotel and spotted a picture happy moment that could not go a miss, with the greatest line up of stores from left to right; Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton, with the Wynn and Encore Hotel in the background.... you couldn't ask for a better line up!

...WOW! To kick start my portfolio back in August 2009, I had styled model Emilie Saint with photographer Simon Crinks, we got some great images and I was very happy to have these images as part of my work.

dark fairytale photo shoot...

...Last week Saturday 20th March, I had organised the Dark Fairytale Photo shoot I had hair stylist Lucy Schafer, Make up artist Carly-Marie, Photographer Zachary and models Rachael Hudson and Lesley Garland and myself as the stylist. I was the director of the shoot, as I had organised, styled, bought garments and props, chose location and styled sets. We had a great time creating these images, but it wasn't always easy, as I had involved real life animals, a dog (posing as the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood, later to be photo shopped) and a rabbit (posing as the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland).

Dark Fairytale...

...For my FMP I have chosen to create a portfolio of pictures, and to specifically focus on dark fairy tales. I decided to keep all the princess's, but create an imaginary reality of what would have happened if they were in the real world! I have recently finished a couple of story boards for two out of the eight characters I have chosen to style, Snow White and Rapunzel, at first I created unprofessional boards, but after using the wonders of photo shop I have managed to create professional, slick new boards.

...I had recently got some work experience with Jane Kennedy Productions, generally helping with styling in Fashion Shows and Photo Shoots, I recently did a portfolio photo shoot for outfits that were for a previous show for Babyliss.
I enjoyed the day so much and really loved working with Jane and generally loved the whole shoot altogether, I would definitely love a career in photographic styling, each time I do a photo shoot, especially with a professional company it makes me crave it even more!

...I annually work in London, and on the year of 2008, my colleagues and I went to an evening Mall to have a meal, when we came across this paper dress which was entirely made form newspaper, I think it is so beautiful and should be shared on my blog. Fairy Tales...

...So my current assignment at the moment is all aimed at the theme of Dark Fairytales, I am trying to recreate the loveable princess's into disasters through photographic styling,to show that even fairy tales can have an unhappy ending!....Anyway, as I was researching to get some inspiration I came across a really amazing video recreating Little Red Riding Hood with animated infographics. It was created by a Graphic Design student Tomas Nilsson where he has cleverly covered topics such as Grandmas nutritional value to the dynamics of eyes and ears.

I think it is so clever and I honestly can not stop watching it...see for yourself.

...Now that I have got your attention!!! I am all about fashion but am hoping to get more involved in styling more specifically photographic styling. I am currently in my second year studying fashion design and love love love it!
